One lonely night they met—
On the same road to no where
With a fumbled look in his eyes—
He recognized her flustered face.
They walked through every corner—
Took a turn through all the allies,
trying to escape the darkness—
that would inevitably engulf—
Only one of them
She stood by close, near his cold body
Him—infinitely detached from the sun
But they knew ideas of each other—
Once in their youth
She poured her heart out foolishly,
Onto the cold ground
Where he didn’t make it in time—to savor it.
As the snowflakes fell—he pulled her lifeless
Body into his strong arms, seeking shelter in—
One another under blankets they thought—
Would last forever
But blankets get worn too
One lonely night they met—
On the same road to no where—
With a painful look in his eyes
He kissed her pale face—Goodbye.
